Who Can See My Data: Roles and Access

For all users: a plain explanation for athletes of who can see your Summit information and how access is controlled.

This article explains, in plain terms, who can see the information you keep in Summit and how access is controlled. It is written for athletes who want to understand what happens to their data.

How Access Works

  1. Summit uses role based access. What a person can see and do depends on their role, for example athlete, coach, administrator, or support staff.

  2. Your role decides your view. You are shown only what your role allows, not everything in the system.

What You Can See

  1. As an athlete, you can see your own information.

  2. Coaches and support staff who work with you, within your organisation, can see the information they need to support you.

  3. Administrators have broader access so they can run Summit for their organisation.

Access Is Scoped to Your Organisation

  1. Your information sits within your organisation.

  2. People from unrelated organisations do not see your data.

Signing In

  1. Sign in is managed through a secure identity service.

  2. HPSNZ Staff sign in using their organisation sign in.

Note: Access is granted by role, not by individual request. If you are unsure who holds a role in your organisation, ask your administrator.

How Your Data Is Handled

  1. Data in Summit is handled in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

  2. Access is limited to the people who need it to support you.

Note: If you would like more detail about how your information is used or shared, contact [email protected] and the support team can help.
