Step Test Dashboard

This articles describes how users can test, calculate and save thresholds and use the results to build heart-rate or power training zones

Overview

The Step Test Dashboard brings together an athlete’s tagged test sessions to analyse lactate and ventilatory thresholds. Users can select an athlete and test, calculate and save thresholds, and use the results to build heart-rate or power training zones.

Data used

What data is required? Where does it come from?

Test session details:
Date, time, athlete and activity type, recorded in the Summit Session module.
The session must be tagged as a test to appear in the this dashboard.

Wearables:
Garmin, Whoop (HRV, HR, Session details)

Step test data:
Lactate and ventilatory test measurements associated with the selected athlete’s tagged test session.

Navigation

Navigate to Dashboard Module

Open Step Test Dashboard

Options include

- Step Test
- Training zones

Step Test

Tagging a session as a testf first

Before you can pull test data into the step test it needs to be tagged in the session as a test. Use these steps (ideally when creating a session) to tag your session as a test

  1. Navigate to Session module

  2. Create session with high level detail (title, date, time, athletes, activity type)

  3. Create session saved

  4. Click on session

  5. Click edit

  6. Click + Add Tag

  7. Select Tag (Tags will vary based on sport and activity)

  8. Save changes

Sessions will show where a session has been tagged as a test and can be pulled through to the Step Test dashboard

Filtering

Back in step test dashboard

  1. Select athlete

  2. Select test

Sessions will show where a session has been tagged as a test

Lactate Thresholds

To view Thresholds:

1. Select Sport

2. Curve Fit

3. Enter Log-log restrictor

4. Toggle on/off whether to include baseline

5. Calculate

6. Next select methodology you want to use

7. Then save

We now see on the dashboards the summary. This encourages test data to come in. Which can then help work out training zones etc

Ventilatory Thresholds

Can add different lines / tools to find VT1 and VT2

Set parameters and Save

Include a method

Larger summary will now be produced

Training Zones

1. Select Session (ie VO2 Max Test)

2. Build new zones

a. Select Activity Type

b. Choose variations (as applicable)

c. Select Type (Heart rate or power)

3. Generate Cards

4. Training zones will appear as cards that can be populated
