Linking and Unlinking Phases

This article helps explain how phases in a plan can be connected and linked so that when one phase is moved the rest move with it.

Link Phases to Parent Phase

Phases by default are created a a Parent Phase and are not linked to any other phase

In the master plan you might want to link phases to a parent phase

For example you might create an overall physical track with longer phases – ie 8 weeks of winter base. Then you might have a strength track that you want to capture phases within this that are connected. Follow these steps

Using Edit Phase function

  1. Edit Plan

  2. Create your parent track (ie Physical)

  3. Create other tracks

  4. Add a phase to that track

  5. Edit Phase

  6. Select + Link to Parent phase

  7. Choose phase to link to from phases in the list

  8. Update phase

  9. Now you will see Parent phase showing as Macro phase (parent), and Linked phase showing as Meso

When you click on a phase that is linked to another phase both will be higlighted in your plan

This also means when you drag the parent phase to a different date, all sub-phases move with it

Using Drag and Drop function

  1. Edit Plan

  2. Create your parent track (ie Physical)

  3. Create other tracks

  4. Select phase you want to link to a parent phase

  5. Drag and hover it over the parent phase

  6. Release when progress bar is complete

  7. Phases are now linked

Un-Linking Phases

To unlink plan phases from Master Plan track in Athlete Plan

1. Edit Plan

2. Right click phase you wish to unlink from Master Track

3. Click Unlink

4. This phase can now be independently moved

If you try to move a phase that is a phase linked to the master plan you will be prompted to confirm you want to unlink and create an athlete-specific phase
